Twas the Night Before Christmas...

Well actually...by the time you read this post...it will be Christmas morning!!! Santa will have already come and you can expect to see a face much like this one...

Don't worry...I will be sure to post all about our Christmas Day festivities, including waking up to Santa. But for now...I thought I would give you a peak of our Christmas Eve!

My parents started a tradition of wearing our jammies to Christmas Eve a few years ago (after we had all moved out) and I honestly love any excuse to wear my PJs out of the house. Even Eric got into the spirit early this year and put his on after he got home from work. Then him and Addie spent some quality time cuddling :-)

And of course I wanted a little cuddling too...

After a lazy afternoon, we headed over to my parents house. It didn't take long for Addie to discover the presents and Grandma could not resist letting her open some early.

This box of goodies held her attention for about 20 minutes...

25 if you count walking her doggie...

But then my mom and dad couldn't take it anymore. They HAD to give her the big gift they have been dying to give her for months...

Her new American Girl dolly and Bed!! Yes...my Dad made the bed and my mom sewed the quilt and mattress to go with it. It is the CUTEST thing I have ever seen. Addie couldn't wait to tuck her new dolly under the covers...

But then she yanked her out so that she could go show Aunt Diana and Uncle Adam...

And then she tucked her back in and said "Night, night." I thought she might let her be for a second and play with the other 8 million toys she got...

But instead, she picked her dolly back up and got into bed with her. HA! I saw my Dad cringe when she sat down but the bed held up like a champ! And that's a good thing because I have a feeling this won't be the last time she climbs into bed with her dolly. HA!

An hour later, we did manage to find a new toy :-)

Of course, Addie wasn't the only one getting presents. Blake got a present too! A camo pair of pants and two matching onesies. Eric was lit up like a Christmas tree :-)

And while I am in the hospital, Addie will get to wear these great new jammies!!!

And after all the excitement, Addie was finally getting tired and decided to curl up with Aunt Diana and Uncle Adam.

When we got home, we had one last thing to take care of. Leaving milk and cookies for Santa.

As I type this, Addie is nuzzled all snug her bed, while visions of dollies and sugar cookies dance in her head. It was another fantastic Christmas Eve with my family and I am reminded once again how truly blessed I am :-) Thank you so much mom and dad! Love you both to pieces!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!!!!!
