Sleep? What's That?

Hi friends. I am afraid I have a rather short post tonight because Mr. Blake and I are currently working on two little issues: Sleep and Bottles. Both of which are apparently not on Blake's list of favorite things. Sleep has always been a problem for my little night owl but now that he is approaching 4 months, Dr. Weissbluth tells me that we can start working on some sleep training. Not full on cry-it-out just yet, but a more revised version. My go-to book in this situation has always been...

This book helped me sleep train Addie and I really hope it is just as successful with Blake because let me tell ya...this mama is so sleep deprived it isn't even funny at this point. We are still waking up at least 3-5 times a night. No joke. He doesn't need to eat every time, but he does need some form of comfort to get him back down (i.e. a binky, a belly rub, some rocking, etc.) Eric can help me with some of those shifts but when the little guy needs to eat, its all me. And that is primarily because this little guys has decided that he will not take a bottle. Addie started refusing the bottle around 3 months and it looks like Blake is following suit. He has had plenty of bottles the first few months of life and didn't seem to have a problem with them. But all of a sudden he wants nothing to do with anything even resembling a bottle. Sigh...

So tonight, we are working on both issues. I have been pumping and Daddy is going to attempt the bedtime bottle. Again. And then when the inevitable 12:00 a.m. wake-up comes along, I am going to resist my natural urge to run right to him. We need to see if 5-10 minutes of fussing will get him back down. If it does, hooray!!!! If not...we will have some work ahead of us. Please pray that this little guy has a good night. Or better yet, pray that this mama does too :-)
