Twas the Eve Before Christmas Eve

Our 3-day holiday marathon started today and it was SO MUCH FUN! My mom's side of the family usually gathers sometime before Christmas and this year it just so happened to be tonight!

All Addie could talk about ALL DAY was how we were having a Christmas party at our house. She picked out her outfit (literally...she refused the cute skinny jeans I had picked out and chose bright white leggings. Ha!). She also made sure to greet all of our guests one by one. Here she is posing with Aunt Diana...

And with her Great Nana...

Blake was also pretty excited about the party and the fact that he was finally feeling better :-)

My Grandma looks forward to this day so much every year. She spoils us all rotten...

And here are the slugs hanging out, doing some male bonding...

And speaking of bonding, it was pretty sweet watching Addie interact with my cousin Scott's son David. He is a few years older than Addie but this year, they were like two little buddies. I took this picture of them while David was trying to show Addie his Nintendo DS. I think the funniest part of the whole night was when David asked my cousin if Addie was speaking Spanish. Apparently he isn't fluent in "Addish" yet. Ha!

David was such a little sweetheart tonight. When he opened his gift from my Grandma, he just yelled out "AWESOME" and my Grandma beamed with pride. She loves when the kids get excited and David knew to play it up :-)

Blake didn't exactly yell out "AWESOME", but the way he tore through his gifts with such excitement made my Grandma very happy...

And then there is Addie. No one EVER has to worry about this girl liking a gift...

She couldn't wait two seconds to bust open her box of dress-up clothes and model them for everyone...

And then afterward, she had a little jewelry fashion show and photoshoot. Here she is working it for the camera.

"Give me sweet"...

"Give me serious"...

"Give me your Glamor Shot look"...

You get the idea. She is cute.

And speaking of cute...here is my little man with my cousin Jill

This girl is seriously the baby whisperer. She spent almost the whole night playing with the kids and when she went to leave tonight, Addie cried. She didn't want her to stop reading her books. It was really pretty sweet :-) If my cousin weren't on her way to becoming a famous Geologist...I would hire her to be my nanny :-)

So as you can see, the first of FOUR Christmas celebrations we have this weekend was a HUGE success. Thanks so much to my wonderful family for bringing such yummy food and thoughtful gifts. We love you all so much!

Now, I would love to promise a post tomorrow night after our Christmas Eve extravaganza...but we have to help Santa with some prep work (i.e. putting together bikes and train tables) so I think I will just check back in with you all Christmas night :-) So until then, I just want to wish you all a

VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

  2. Have a great Christmas weekend! We'll have to catch up next week. I'm curious about these bouncy house antics Diana is writing about. . .

  3. Thanks Tara! I hope you guys have a great Christmas too!

So the bouncy house. Well...turns out that if you eat a BBQ sandwich, veggies and dip, a handful of cookies, and wash it down with sparkling grape juice...the likelihood of puking while jumping is pretty high. Like 100%. So that's what happened. Her and my cousin's son were jumping and all of a sudden David yelled, "Addie puked!" and I looked over and she was still jumping...with puke on her shirt. Niiiiicce :-)
