The Bucket List

One of my old college buddies just happens to be a pretty famous financial blogger. Oh...and did I mention he is also conveniently married to one of my BFF's? I don't name drop him NEARLY enough around here, but with his first book deal in the works, I know his career is about to get insane and I want to make sure I do my part to spread the word about his amazing blog called Good Financial Cents.

Jeff's lastest post is about his bucket list, which I have to admit is pretty darn sweet. He is such a family man :-) And are you ready for this...he is also giving you a chance to win $500 just by listing your own bucket list!!! So that's what I am going to do right now. Here is my bucket list, in no particular order:

1. See my babies get married and start a family of their own.
I can't begin to tell you how important this is to me. How much I pray about it. I just want Eric and I to be around to raise our children together and be able to see them start a life of their own.

2. Buy a beach house for my Dad.
Actually, I would like to buy a beach house for both my parents...but I promised it to my Dad first. Ha! Every time him and my mom helped me out as a kid, teenager and adult...I've always said, "Don't worry Dad...I'll buy you a beach house some day to say thanks." Oh how I wish I was able to do that right now. Someday Pop!!!

3. Publish a book.
I've considered myself a writer since high school and even though I have written many short stories, a children's book and a few attempts at a funny "mommy book" and some young adult fiction, I have yet to hold a published book in my hands. My Master's Thesis is bound and on the shelves at Southern Illinois University so I guess that will have to count for now :-)

4. Run a half marathon.
Maybe I will feel differently after I run a half, but I have no desire to run a full marathon. For someone who hated running her whole life, I am proud that I even have the desire and motivation to attempt 13.1 :-)

5. Visit every state in the U.S. with our kids.
Eric and I bought this little US map the other day and we talked about how we would eventually like to take the kids to every state. Sure...we can't take the RV to Hawaii...but I guess we can settle for The Four Seasons or something. Remember babe...we said ALL states!

6. Do some stand-up comedy.
This is such a silly thing for a bucket list, but I love making people laugh. I can't say everyone thinks I am funny, but I love to entertain and be silly when I am with my family and friends. Someday I hope to have the nerve to get on stage just once.

7. Start a business with my mom.
When I was really young, my mom talked about wanting to open a quilt shop. We were going to attach it to our house and it was going to be so cute. I no longer have the desire to own a quilt shop (haha. Sorry mama), but the dream of owning a business with my mom is still top on my list :-)

I am pretty sure I have another 20 things on my list, but these are my favorites :-)

So...now that I have posted my bucket list...it's your turn!!! Make sure to enter the Good Financial Cents giveaway, sponsored by Life Insurance Finder – the easiest place to compare life insurance quotes. Oh, that reminds me:

8. Win $500.
Make this happen Jeff :-)
