Doggie Love, Driveway Camping & An Early Easter Celebration

Before I jump into this post, I just want to thank everyone who left my sis Diana such sweet comments this weekend. I can't tell you how much she appreciates everyone thinking of her. It's so hard losing a pet, especially one that has been with you for so long. But Di is one of the strongest women I know and she is already trying to look at the silver lining. That, my friends, is why I love her so much :-)

Losing Ami this week made me realize that there is a certain man in my life that does not get enough attention. So...we gave Howie some EXTRA love (and a plate of sausage) this weekend.

On Monday of last week, I said to Eric, "Wow...we only have one thing on our calendar this weekend! What are we going to do with all that free time?"

I was really sort of joking...since relaxing and hanging around the house seemed kinda nice...but that's not how we roll.

So, we invited our friends Jenny and Jimmy and their son Patrick over Friday night for Pizza. The adults watched the season finale of Spartacus, while the kids ate popcorn and watched Hop in the other room.

And because we finally had a slow weekend, Eric thought...why not bring the camper home?!!

We are already planning our first camping trip in a few weeks so there was a LOT to get ready. We've been picking things up here and there and I have pulled a lot of supplies from our house.  It was nice to get everything in and organized this weekend, but it makes us even more excited to CAMP!!!

The kids could not handle having the camper in the driveway. They wanted to be in it 24/7, so we first promised that we could have lunch in it...

Then we promised they could play in it for the afternoon...

Then we invited Nana and Papa over for a drink...

Then we promised the kids could drink their before-bed chocolate milk...

And then Addie batted her big hazel eyes and convinced Daddy to SLEEP in the camper with her that night. And he happily agreed :-)

So driveway camping it was. Daddy slept in our freshly made camper bed...

While Blake and I slept comfortably in the house :-)

After a surprisingly GREAT nights sleep (and a 4 mile morning run for me), we headed off to Uncle Ryan and Aunt Meagan's for an early Easter celebration!

I haven't seen Owen in a month and he is looking so grown up!!!

Where did our baby go?

We really wanted to get the kids picture today, but Blake was just not having it. And getting Addie and Owen to cooperate was even a little tough. They did look at the camera together a few times...

But for the most part...if she was looking, he wasn't.

And if he was looking...she wasn't.

So instead she just leaned over and kissed his sweet face.

We did manage to get one shot of all 3 kids...but it's only because Nana was making them laugh.

I finally decided it was time to just take this little peanut's picture alone :-)

This weekend felt a lot more like early April around here, but that didn't keep these kids from wanting to be outside. Addie spent all her time on the swing set...

And Blake spent all his time chasing bubbles...

Addie and I FINALLY managed to get a cute Mommy/Daughter pic...

And of course, the most photogenic family in the world got another great family pic. It's easy when you are working with such great material :-)

Once again, it is Sunday night and I am POOPED!! But honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way.

I hope you all had a great weekend too!!

Crazy little peanut. And that pic of you two is definitely a framer. :) Did you get your new camera yet? Are you going to become the next mommy photographer?! ;-)
