My Office/Craft Room Closet

Well my friends...it's finally done! My office/craft room closet is organized and open for business!

I know it's not Pinterest-worthy cute, but it makes my OCD heart happy.

Now there's a place for everything, and everything is in it's place. A lot of the organizational carts, drawers, containers and bins I already had in my house, but the one thing I did purchase is the white drawer set in the center. They were on sale at Michael's this week and they are PERFECT for organizing all of my scrapbooking supplies. The drawers actually hold 4x6 pictures standing up which is a great way to organize your extra prints if you don't have them in albums.

As you know, I am also a big fan of plastic drawers and I have had this set for years! I am using it now to organize all of my gift bags, tissue and bows.

The other day, I tried counting how many of these Container Store plastic boxes I have throughout my house and I gave up when I reached about 22. Yes...they are that awesome. They stack perfectly, they are crystal clear so you can see everything inside and they are a great price.

As you can see, I got a little label happy with this project. In fact, I have been a little label happy in general lately. My bookshelf is even rocking several labels.

But I think these mini chalkboards are my favorite.

After organizing all my craft supplies, I felt like I owed it to the kids to do the same for them. I was able to clear out a big cabinet in my kitchen to use for their craft/game storage and I am super happy with how it turned out, especially now that our playroom is in the basement. We play a lot of games upstairs and the kids always do their projects at the kitchen table so this made the most sense.

Ahh...that is the BEST feeling ever!! Getting organized gives me such a high. But now that it's done...the real challenge will be to KEEP it this way :-)

If this post has inspired any of you to do some organizing this weekend, here is a list of links to some of the items in my closet.

I highly recommend the Honey-Can-Do cart for crafters who don't have a room already dedicated to crafting. The cart is on wheels and actually has a nice workspace on top so you can pull it out when you craft, and tuck it away when you are done. All the modular units from Michael's are also on sale for 40% right now, which is AWESOME because they never seem to be on sale. They also have an additional 20% coupon if you download their app, making these units a steal!!!

Well that's all I have for you guys today! Happy organizing and Happy Friday!

  2. I LOVE IT!!! Who are you kidding, Jen?! It's totally Pinterest worthy! Pin that bad boy! Haha

As a fellow OCD freak, this was like porn (sorry for being so disgusting, but that was the best description for this post. Ha). I love the labels, and especially the baskets. Super gorgeous!

Can't wait to sort out a craft room for myself when Carlos and I are settled into our new place back in Vermont. There's not enough room in our apartment here in Liverpool, and I've been trying my hardest not to add to my 'craft collection' cause it costs too much to cart back across the Ocean. Totally copying your basket ideas when I get the chance to do it though! :) Thanks for the inspiration!

  3. I have to agree with Amanda, Pin those pics!! I had started converting our formal diningroom into my sewing/crafting room and I've slowly been stacking up on more of the clear carts. They are the perfect solution for any orgination task. We already use them for our kids toys in the playroom. Great job.

  7. Response to your comment: Aww. Thanks Jen! And when do you not have a child in your lap? LOL! They are to cute not to hang on too!

As for the Link-up, I am sorry to say that I am still working on getting a linky right now. So that means that "linking" on here is just commenting your blog address. :( I know that sounds just about as awful and unprofessional as you can get, but I am working on it.
