Stop & Smell the Roses: Week 13: Blog Love and So What Wednesday

Happy Wednesday everyone! It's time again to link up with House of Rose for another week of

Let me just warn all of you right now...I totally RAMBLE for like 3 solid minutes in this vlog. I had a point today, which was to say thanks to all of my wonderful blog friends (including my IRL friends and family that also blog). Blogging is something I have done for almost 4 years now and it has become such a HUGE part of my life.

And when you invest so much of your time and passion into something, it's hard when others don't understand why you do it. I get made fun of (in a loving way) by lots of my family and friends for blogging and posting silly videos of myself but the reason I do it is because I LOVE it! It's a part of who I am now and I could never imagine not doing it.

So I just want to thank all of my blog buddies who get it. Who understand the time and commitment it takes and who understand just how many doors have been opened for me because of blogging. I've made so many wonderful friends the past few years, and some have actually become IRL friends (Chels...I'm talking to you girlfriend! Love ya!). I also have friends that literally text me every day just to say hi and see how things are going (Amanda...that's all you girlfriend! xoxo).

If it were not for this blog, I never would have met these amazing people or been able to stay in such great contact with my friends and family. And even though there are some haters out there and some days blogland can seem like one big high school of clicks...it's still one of the most enjoyable and rewarding things I have ever done as a "hobby". Blogging rocks!! And that's exactly what I was trying to say in this video that came out more like word vomit. Sorry...but here it is anyway for your viewing pleasure :-)

If you noticed in my video, I am also attempting to link up with Shannon @ Life After I "Dew" for So What Wednesdays so make sure you head on over there for her great post as well.

And before you leave my blog, make sure you enter my AWESOME GIVEAWAY for a free copy of My Memoris Suite Software! The giveaway ends tomorrow so get on it friends!!! I am so excited to pick a winner :-)

  3. Oh Jen, I love this. I can relate on so many levels and you are on point with everything you talked about today. I can't imagine not blogging and it's become such a big part of my life and one of the most fulfilling hobbies ever! One of my very best friends in the world, I met through blogging and she flew from California for my Wedding! We talk everyday and she makes my life better- we would have never met if I didn't comment on her blog. It's a sad truth that sometimes the ones you expect to support you don't always but you are right- WOMEN!! I do hope we meet in real life someday. Heck, I'll hop in my car and see you in two hours!?

    1. Thanks, Nina! I knew you girls would be able to relate and I am sorry I went and got all Negative Nancy with the women/drama stuff. It's just a part of blogging and putting yourself out there but luckily there is so much other WONDERFUL stuff to be thankful for (like best friends that live on the other side of the country) that's it's easy to forget about all the other stuff. So glad you and I have become friends too :-) Now get in the car and come on up!! I can have wine chilled and ready to go!

  5. Aw Jen, this vlog is so genuine and one of my favorites because I relate to pretty much every single thing you said! Although I've only been blogging for nearly a year I can't imagine my life without it now. I've met so many wonderful people (such as yourself - seriously we talk more than some of my real life friends talk) and this has given me such a wonderful opportunity to voice my feelings and thoughts in a way that allows me to keep in touch with family across the world too. Blogging is such a wonderful thing. For cereal. And I get teased by my friends and family about doing it also (especially by my Dad. I'll never forget when I told him I'd started a blog - his exact words "You've got too much free time on your hands!" haha) but I just laugh at their inability to see the positives. Besides, what other hobbies work on your grammar, punctuation and spelling?! I mean, come on! Our childhood English teachers would be over the moon to know that we WILLINGLY write nearly every day! Ha!

Wow, okay I need to shut up now. I've like hogged all of your comment space with my own word vomit. I loved seeing your pretty face and I'm so glad you joined us again today :) lots of love xoxo

P.S. Thanks for the shout out above chicado, I heart you to pieces and that was so sweet. I'm about to txt you right now and laugh about how I almost wore my hair the exact same way as you this morning. Whoda thunk, right? TWINNIES!

    1. Only a fellow English teacher would truly understand the educational benefits of blogging. Ha!! This is why I love you!! And don't worry, I get made fun of just as much as you but now after almost 4 years, I think a lot of family is starting to get it. Well...i hope at least. Ha! Thanks for being such a great buddy and for ALWAYS taking the time to leave such sweet comments. You're the best :-)
