Stop & Smell the Roses {Week 16} A Boo-Boo

Happy Wednesday, friends! I'm happy to be linking up once again with House of Rose for Week 16 of...

I would just like to apologize in advance for being less than upbeat today. I've got myself a little boo-boo that could or could not be serious. You see, I'm a bit accident prone and yesterday I was running into my house from the garage and under stepped a bit, slamming my foot and ankle into the stairs, which of course made me trip and fall flat on my face.

It was not pretty. However, it gave Addie and Blake a pretty great laugh. Watching me soar through the air was probably pretty funny :-)

Anyway, I am left with quite a bruised and swollen foot/ankle and it is difficult for me to walk. My foot is definitely better today than it was yesterday, but because of my running and training right now, I need to make sure that everything is okay. My half marathon is only 6 weeks away and I want to do everything right so that I don't injure myself more :(

So I'm a little sad as I wait to go to the doctor. I actually filmed my vlog last night, in between one of my ice sessions, and although I am not exactly "thankful" at this point today...I am hopeful that the results from my appointment today will give me something to be thankful for later.

Hope to see you all later with some good news!

UPDATE: I won't be seeing the Orthopedic doc until tomorrow morning because they want me to see the ankle/foot guy. But thank you all for the prayers and I will be sure to update tomorrow :-) xoxo

  2. Keep an ace wrap on it when you are not icing. Start at the toes and wrap up. Also NO flip flops. If you can get your tennis shoes on wear them. They are more rigid and will help in the long run. Hope things are better today. I followed in your footsteps last night and wiped out coming down the stairs while carrying Molly. My husband just sits and says what did you do now. Nice huh.

    1. Will do, Amanda! And thank you for help of your Sports Med Expertise. It does pay to have a friend that knows what to do in these situations :-) And that SUCKS that you fell too!!! Glad you and Molly are both okay but yeah...I know the look and head shaking your husband gave you. I get it ALL the time! I have an appointment with the ankle/foot specialist tomorrow so I will let you know what he says. And stay by your computer...I may have questions throughout the day. Ha!

    1. Thanks girl. I really don't think it is fractured today. It feels much more like a sprain and bad bruise. But hopefully the doc can determine all that for me tomorrow. I am just glad it feels better and not worse today. Thanks for the prayers honey!

  7. Oh, Jen! :(

I saw your picture on Instagram yesterday - didn't actually hear what happened. Praying now! Just following your blog, I see and hear how hard you've been working to get ready for your half marathon and I'm sending all my hugs, love, and prayers for quick HEALING! Hang in there Jen!!! I know it's hard to stay positive when it seems like nothing's going right, but you'll regret being negative in the end... I'm sure you know that! Love you so much girlfriend! Take care! xoxo
