When our friends Eddie and Krystal announced their engagement over the holidays last year, September 2012 seemed SO far away. But like most weddings, their day came and went in the blink of an eye. But man...did they have the most BEAUTIFUL wedding day ever!! Sunny and 70 degrees. In Chicago. In September. Amazing :-)
So on Saturday afternoon, the "Sleepover Bus" arrived a little early to pick up the kiddies so that Eric and I would have enough to time to get ready and leave for the reception on time. Have I ever mentioned how much I love this woman??!!
Once the kiddies were gone, it was time to get ready which meant one thing:
It was the moment of truth.
Would the red dress that inspired my 30 Day Fitness Challenge fit the way I wanted it to???
And the answer was YES!!!!!
In fact, my girlfriends Jenny and Jamie (also part of the LGN 30 Day Challenge) were hoping the same thing and their dresses fit perfectly too!!! We all laughed so hard when we met up at the wedding and shared the fact that none of us had to wear Spanx to make our dresses fit!! And then we toasted our success with some champagne and a big bowl of crab dip :-)
So here is a great picture of our little gang. Our friends Jimmy and Jenny to left, us in the middle, and our buddy Joe and his girlfriend Jamie on the right.
We all had the BEST time at the wedding. We ate a delicious meal, drank some yummy cocktails and danced until the DJ kicked us out :-)
I was really hoping to score a great picture of the bride and groom, but because the lighting was awful for my iPhone and because my husband insisted on photo-bombing every single shot...I didn't end up with any that were post worthy. But let me just tell you...the bride was flawless.
The next morning, I honestly expected to feel a little better than I did. I drank mostly water at the wedding because I was the designated driver and even though we did go to bed a little late, I am used to being up with one or both of my kids each night so a lack of sleep doesn't really phase me anymore. But nevertheless, I woke up feeling blah but I still put on my Chicago Bears t-shirt and went to pick up the kids. By the time the game started, I was in the fetal position on the couch with a fever and chills.
I still have no idea what brought this sickness on, but I spent most of Sunday on the couch nursing what felt like the flu. I am still not 100% today but Mommy Duty calls! I'm praying this goes away today so that I can wake up feeling like myself tomorrow. The sickies SUCK!
But hey...at least we were able to enjoy a fabulous night celebrating with our friends this weekend and even though I was on the couch, I still got to see the Bears WIN!!! Woohoo!!!
I hope you all had a great weekend too!!!
