My Birthday Weekend in a Nutshell

To say that I was spoiled on my birthday this year is an understatement. Actually, I was spoiled for an entire week!! It all started on Wednesday when my in-laws had us over for a little family birthday dinner.

Every year, my mother-in-law asks what I want for my birthday dinner and every year I say the same thing.

Her lasagna.

I am not kidding you...it is the BEST lasagna ever. And of course, she always has some asparagus, salad, bread and WINE to go with it. It was delicious. And then my sis Dana ended the meal with an oreo ice-cream dessert. I seriously gained 5 pounds :-)

After dinner, it was time for presies. Everyone went together to get me gift cards to Barnes and Noble so that I could preorder my NOOK HD!!!! Woohoo!!!!! I am so excited to get this, although I know that the kids will be fighting to read books and play on it too :-)

As much as I love a new toy or gadget, the BEST birthday present I get every year is time with these little peanuts...

Thank you so much Patti, Steve, Dana, Kevin, Nia and Nolan!!! I love you all bunches!!

On Thursday, my actual birthday, I planned to stay in my yoga pants all day and just hang with the kids until Eric got home. We decided we would just order a pizza and watch a movie.

Well, that day turned out to be SO much more fun than I expected. I did stay in my yoga pants all day, but I had several door-to-door birthday surprises that I was not expecting!!

My sis Dana brought me a Pumpkin Spice Latte in the morning, My Dad stopped over with some Portillos for lunch, my friend Barb stopped over with wine for some afternoon drinking. We may or may not have had a glass at 2:30 in the afternoon.

And of course, after work, Eric came home with a Lou Malnoti's pizza and a delicious cake. We ate, watched some Spookly the Square Pumpkin and then the kiddies sang to me while I blew out my candle.

It was the perfect birthday day ever :-)

And the rest of the week just as special. I got so many wonderful snail mail birthday surprises from some of my dearest friends. I know I say this ALL the time, but I am such a lucky girl :-)

And then yesterday, it was my sister-in-law Diana's birthday too!!! Our family throws us a joint birthday celebration every year and this time around, Di and Adam hosted so that they could break in their brand new brick oven!!!

We all got to make our own individual pizzas and seriously guys...they were amazing. I honestly think Di's homemade dough was the best part about them. SO GOOD!!!

And after our yummy dinner, we were spoiled once again with fabulous gifts. Di and Adam hooked me up with the latest season of True Blood, our favorite, along with a gift card to download some new books and magazine subscriptions to my NOOK! She also got me a fancy new cheese grater and potholders (I totally asked for those and I can't tell you how excited I am to have them. Ha!)

Meagan and Ryan got me an AWESOME wine-themed gift, including a brand new electric wine opener that is freaking awesome!! She also got me this gorgeous necklace from a boutique on GroupDeals.

And then my parents hooked me up as usual with lots of cute new clothes/running gear, a cookbook and another B&N gift card for NOOK accessories :-)

The best part about last night was having some time to just sit and chat while all the kiddies played. Owen has gotten SO big and this is the first family party where him and Blake really played together. They shared their toys and their food and at the end of the night...they even shared Nana's lap :-)

I just love these baby boys :-)

It was such a GREAT birthday celebration. Thank you Mom, Dad, Ryan, Meagan, Owen, Di and Adam for such a wonderful birthday party. And of course

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUNT DI!!!!

And thanks to all of my other wonderful friends and family that took the time to send me a birthday wish this week. I appreciate you all so very, very much :-)

Best. Birthday. Ever.
